Privacy Policy

Working draft — last updated 2 August 2026

LexKhata is a financial record-keeping application intended for advocates and other legal professionals. This policy explains the general privacy approach of the LexKhata application and website.

1. Offline-first financial records

LexKhata is designed so that core financial records are stored locally on the user's device. Users are responsible for securing their device and maintaining exported backups.

2. Backup files

Backup files are created at the user's request. The user decides where to save or share an exported backup. LexKhata does not guarantee recovery where no valid backup is available.

3. Permissions and device features

LexKhata may request permissions needed for local notifications, biometric or device authentication, file creation, sharing and restoration. Permission use depends on the feature selected by the user.

4. Website information

The public website may receive ordinary technical information supplied by the hosting provider, such as server logs. Any future analytics or contact forms will be described before they are enabled.

5. Subscription information

If paid plans are introduced, payment processing may be handled by an app-store or payment provider. LexKhata should not directly collect a user's full card, bank or UPI credentials.

6. Support communication

When a user contacts support, information voluntarily included in the message may be used to respond to that support request.

7. Disclaimer

LexKhata is not a legal-advice, accounting or tax-advisory service. Users remain responsible for verifying records and obtaining appropriate professional advice.

8. Changes

This policy may be updated as LexKhata features, subscriptions, hosting, analytics or support services develop.

9. Contact

Privacy questions may be sent to support@lexkhata.com.

Important: This is a working draft and must be reviewed before public Play Store release.
